I got a very enthusiastic ride in one yesterday. Adding this to my list of must own sedans. Power was fantastic, it handles very very flat with little roll. Carries its weight very well. The seats are incredibly comfortable, yet solid enough to hold you in during high speed cornering. Only 2 complaints. The noise was lacking. And me, at 6'2'', i had head room issues in the back seats. Front was no problem. That is all.
The doors close incredible well. You can close it by using your pinky! To me the ability for a door to close incredibly smooth without having to slam it is an indication of quality.
very good looking car.
First car ive been in with a rear locking diff. And being able to hear the beep when it was working was pretty awesome too.

I almost replaced my base 2008 Legacy 2.5 (slushbox) with one of these. I got the S60R instead because I wanted to get something somewhat different from what I already owned.
I regret it only when looking at the R's repair bill.

In total, maybe ~$4,000 a year.

My mom had a 2.5 GT for 9 wonderful years. Best car Subaru had ever made, imo. Although, I haven't driven the new WRX yet. I wish the manual wagons weren't unicorns. Everyone I find for sale has been bastardized, too. The Spec B's are especially hard to find around here.
sefeing, actually bought an E46

would've loved to try on a spec.B before I bought my Mazdaspeed 6. They're great looking cars for sure, and seem to be extremely fun. And that boxer noise.......
It will be on my list of cars to try when I get rid of the MS6.

These things are great, but the spec .B is incredibly rare.

shame it didn't have the brick coloured interior, fell in love when I saw it in person after hating how it looked online

He actually had one with the brick red interior. but on his way home from buying it, it was involved in an accident and totalled (not his fault either). 1 less of the 500. Then he got one a year newer. I really love how that 2006 year model had 500 produced. Its like an affordable collector car.
